How Our Intensive Outpatient Program in Cherry Hill Works
Starting treatment can feel overwhelming. Our process is designed to be clear, structured, and supportive from the very first call.
Step 1: Initial Assessment
We begin with a confidential clinical assessment to evaluate your substance use history, medical background, mental health needs, and recovery goals. This evaluation helps determine whether our Intensive Outpatient Program in Cherry Hill is the appropriate level of care.
Step 2: Individualized Treatment Plan
Based on your assessment, our team develops a personalized care plan outlining therapy frequency, medication management (if appropriate), and measurable recovery goals.
Step 3: Structured Weekly Schedule
Most patients attend approximately nine hours of group therapy and one hour of individual therapy each week. Sessions are scheduled on consistent days to provide routine and accountability while still allowing you to live at home and maintain work or family responsibilities.
Step 4: Ongoing Medical and Clinical Monitoring
Patients receiving medication-assisted treatment are monitored by medical providers to ensure safety, symptom stability, and dosage adjustments when necessary.
Step 5: Progress Evaluation and Step-Down Planning
As you advance in recovery, we reassess progress and develop a transition plan, which may include traditional outpatient care, continued counseling, or community-based recovery support.
Program Schedule and Time Commitment
Our Intensive Outpatient Program in Cherry Hill is structured to provide meaningful therapeutic intensity without requiring residential treatment.
- Approximately 10 total clinical hours per week
- Combination of group therapy and individual counseling
- Medication management appointments when clinically indicated
- Program length typically averages 90 days, depending on clinical progress
Because every patient’s needs differ, treatment duration and schedule may be adjusted based on clinical recommendations.
Insurance and Cost Considerations
The cost of an Intensive Outpatient Program in Cherry Hill can vary depending on several factors, including length of participation, medication requirements, and insurance coverage.
Many commercial insurance plans, as well as Medicare and Medicaid, provide benefits for intensive outpatient treatment. Our team can assist with verifying insurance coverage and explaining your benefits before treatment begins.
If you have questions about payment options or coverage eligibility, our admissions team can guide you through the process.
Our Intensive Outpatient (IOP) Services for the Cherry Hill Area
When you enroll in our Intensive Outpatient Program, you receive an individualized treatment plan tailored to your needs and daily responsibilities. Our multidisciplinary team evaluates your clinical history, recovery goals, and lifestyle considerations to create a structured plan.
Our IOP integrates medical care, therapy, and structured accountability to support long-term sobriety.
Group Counseling
Group counseling provides a supportive setting where individuals connect with others facing similar challenges. These sessions encourage peer accountability, shared learning, and community support throughout recovery.
Individual Counseling Therapy
One-on-one therapy sessions allow you to address personal challenges in a private environment. Our counselors help patients develop coping skills, manage triggers, and build relapse-prevention strategies.
Evidence-based therapies used in our Cherry Hill IOP include:
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Motivational Interviewing
- Reality Therapy
- Solution-Focused Therapy
Medication Management
Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) is available for individuals recovering from opioid use disorder. We utilize medications such as Suboxone and Methadone to reduce cravings, manage withdrawal symptoms, and lower relapse risk.
By stabilizing physical dependency, patients can focus on counseling and behavioral change.
IOP vs. Outpatient Addiction Treatment
An Intensive Outpatient Program provides a higher level of structure than traditional outpatient treatment.
Standard outpatient programs involve fewer weekly sessions and less clinical oversight. While beneficial for some individuals, this level of care may not provide sufficient support for those with more complex addiction patterns.
A Cherry Hill IOP includes more frequent therapy sessions, structured accountability, and ongoing medical monitoring while still allowing patients to live at home and manage daily responsibilities.
What Affinity’s Intensive Outpatient Treatment Can Treat
Our Intensive Outpatient Program in Cherry Hill focuses on treating opioid use disorder and other substance dependencies using a combination of medication-assisted treatment and behavioral therapy.
Prescription Medication Addiction
We treat dependence on prescription opioids including:
- OxyContin
- Vicodin
- Percocet
- Hydrocodone
- Codeine
- Morphine
Treatment combines MAT stabilization with therapeutic intervention to reduce misuse triggers and support long-term recovery.
Heroin Addiction
For individuals recovering from heroin addiction, MAT using Methadone or Suboxone helps reduce withdrawal severity and cravings. Intensive counseling addresses behavioral patterns and psychological triggers associated with heroin use.
Our program focuses on restoring stability in work, family, and social life.
