Benefits of Methadone Treatment
Methadone treatment has numerous benefits, including the ability to ease the difficulty of the detoxification process. It does this by altering parts of the brain that are most severely affected by addiction, lowering the severity of opioid withdrawal symptoms and cravings.
As the methadone treatment works to fix the brain on a chemical level, patients can more easily focus on bettering their mental health. A large part of that healing process is behavioral therapy, which our treatment therapists use to discover and address internal and external factors that led to your substance abuse.
Opioid Abuse Therapies We Offer in Williamstown, NJ
Our methadone clinic in Williamstown offers a wide variety of opioid abuse therapies to support the betterment of your health. Our addiction specialists understand that not everyone will respond the same way to the same therapies. That’s why our treatment is customized to your needs so you can get the exact help you require.
Our available opioid abuse therapies in Williamstown, NJ are listed below.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy frequently used to address a person’s unfavorable actions. By identifying what negative thoughts led to a person’s negative actions, cognitive-behavioral therapy seeks to readjust an individual’s thought patterns. Once these thought patterns are identified, they can eventually learn to choose healthier behaviors and coping strategies.
At Affinity Healthcare Group, our addiction specialists use CBT to help you overcome crippling opioid use disorders, so you can choose to live a more fulfilling future. And when used in conjunction with our MAT, you’ll have a medical and psychological solution to your addiction.
Reality Therapy
Reality therapy centers around the idea that all humans have essential needs that they’re looking to fill each day. Some individuals seek these needs using harmful or unpleasant means, however, including turning to opioid use. Reality therapy helps patients identify which essential needs their drug abuse is trying to fulfill; then, counselors work to help them develop healthier behaviors that meet their needs.
The most common essential human needs include:
- Survival
- Achievement
- Love
- Power
- Acceptance
- Independence
- Freedom
- Fun or enjoyment
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is a therapy technique that seeks to enhance a client’s motivation to change their addictive behaviors. Our counselors will conduct a series of interviews to determine what internal motivators drive your addictive behaviors. We’ll then work with you to formulate healthier responses to these motivators so you can create new patterns of behavior.
Solution Focused Therapy
At Affinity Healthcare Group, we use solution-focused therapy to help you take a future-centered perspective instead of clinging to past decisions that led to your opioid use disorder. This goal-oriented treatment uses your strengths and skills to prioritize your health and develop a system that will allow you to avoid using again.
