Medication Assisted Treatment
Enduring the physical symptoms of detox can be excruciating, but it doesn’t have to be. With medication-assisted treatment (MAT), we use FDA-approved medicine to help you find relief from cravings during and after withdrawal.
MAT has effectively reduced feelings associated with withdrawal when combined with other therapies. Suboxone, consisting of buprenorphine and naloxone, has been proven to alleviate symptoms of opioid addiction.
Our methadone treatment plans can help alleviate physical symptoms of withdrawal so you can focus on your mental health and move forward with recovery.
Along with MAT, our providers offer different therapies and techniques like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), group therapy, reality therapy, solution-focused therapy, and motivational interviewing.
With guidance and support, both MAT and behavioral therapy can help you:
- Reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings
- Prevent overdose
- Avoid opiate abuse and relapse
- Maintain employment
Suboxone for Opioid Addiction
Opioid agonists like heroin, morphine, and oxy alter how you perceive pain and release endorphins to make you feel good, creating the “opioid effect.” Suboxone is an opioid antagonist that stops those pain-blocking receptors from activating as a result of opioid use. By taking Suboxone, you’ll experience fewer cravings and detox symptoms, and relapse is less likely.
Suboxone treatment is tailored to fit your short or long-term needs, and you can take this medication on an outpatient basis.
Behavioral Therapy
Our clinic in Camden, NJ, prioritizes the whole person in our approach to treatment. Finding relief from opioid addiction isn’t one-size-fits-all or just all about physical recovery. Addressing mental and emotional needs is a key part of treatment.
We provide the following therapies at our Suboxone clinic in Camden, NJ to assist with opioid addiction recovery.
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy
Cognitive-behavioral therapy, also known as CBT, focuses on the relationship between our thoughts and actions. If, for example, you’re having negative thoughts about yourself, your decision-making and actions can revolve around those bad feelings.
You may turn to opioids to escape those thoughts and emotions, and that’s where CBT comes in to encourage positive change. Our expert therapists are trained to help you move forward with recovery by shifting thought patterns, practicing new skills, and developing healthy problem-solving strategies.
Reality Therapy
A form of CBT, reality therapy focuses on how our decisions are impacted by an innate need for the following:
- Survival
- Love
- Acceptance
- Achievement
- Power
- Freedom
- Independence
- Fun or Enjoyment
By understanding how you’re feeling in the present moment, our therapists will help you learn to identify and address unmet needs through healthy coping mechanisms and make positive choices throughout your recovery journey.
Motivational Interviewing
Motivational interviewing is a communication technique where one of our trained therapists will talk with you about your choices and behaviors from a place of curiosity, empathy, and care. Insight into what motivates you will help you advocate for yourself and allow your care team to construct a treatment plan based on your input and recovery goals.
Solution Focused Therapy
Entering recovery is hard enough, and your treatment shouldn’t be all about unhealthy choices, weaknesses, or shame. Solution-focused therapy emphasizes your current strengths and skills, using what you’re already doing well to build your confidence and facilitate long-term recovery.
