Posted on Britt LynnMarch 27, 2024 Absolutely love this place. The nurses and staff here are amazing! They actually want to help you. And they genuinely care. I’m actually a name here and not just a number. Ive been to another place and it’s nothing like it is here.Posted on April RodenbaughMarch 19, 2024 I transferred from Camden treatment center and I am glad that I did the only downside of it is that I was getting 27 bottles at Camden treatment center and when I I got here I only get 13 it makes me feel like I have been down graded but it is what it is. I enjoy coming here is clean quiet drama free nobody standing outside bugging you to buy something or asking for something just in an out . Thank you to tia my counselor she is great and Deb in nursing is so awesome ????........Posted on rOctober 16, 2023 These guys are really cool and genuinely care. I would like to especially mention Ron, very helpful on the phone. Terry, who had the patience like Jōb, and Nick, very courteous and professional. I didn't feel like i was just another number, so to speak. Thanks again guys! Edited to leave my name Robert M. I'm editing this review just to reiterate my last review..i mean these guys can't make this process any easier.. shout out to Terry the counselor, Debbie the nurse, the lady at the front I'm sorry i forget your name but very professional very sweet, if i had to think of anything negative its not really negative just a preference..i am prescribed suboxone. Conditions We Address: Opioid Use Disorder
Opioid use disorder doesn’t look the same for everyone, and it doesn’t begin the same way either. Some people become dependent following a prescription. Others have been struggling for years. Wherever you are in your journey, our Virginia-based methadone clinic can help.
We have extensive experience helping patients find freedom from opioids including:
- Heroin
- Fentanyl
- OxyContin
- Vicodin and other prescription painkillers
Your experience with opioid use disorder is unique to you, and your treatment plan will be too. We take the time to understand your history, your health, and your goals so we can build a path forward that’s made for you specifically.
If you’re ready to retake control over your life, talk with us today.
How Our Medication-Assisted Treatment Program Works
The physical side of opioid addiction, the withdrawal symptoms, the relentless cravings, can make it nearly impossible to focus on anything else. Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) addresses that reality head-on.
At Affinity Healthcare Group, our MAT program uses FDA-approved medications, including methadone and suboxone, to ease the physical symptoms of withdrawal. When your body is stabilized, your mind has room to heal. That’s when processing emotions, building coping skills, and rebuilding relationships becomes possible.
The Impact Methadone Treatment Can Have on Your Recovery
Methadone treatment has decades of clinical evidence behind it. Administered under careful medical supervision and paired with behavioral therapy, it gives patients a genuine, sustainable path toward long-term recovery. Our addiction medicine physicians monitor your progress closely and adjust your treatment plan as you grow.
At our Chesapeake clinic, MAT is never a standalone solution; it’s the foundation on which your full recovery is built.
Counseling Services That Reinforce Long-Term Recovery
Getting physically stable is the first chapter of recovery. Writing the rest of the story takes more. At Affinity Healthcare Group, we pair every MAT program with evidence-based behavioral therapy, because lasting recovery means addressing both the body and the mind.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Many people struggling with opioid use disorder have thought patterns that developed long before the addiction itself: patterns of shame, avoidance, or negative self-talk that make recovery harder to sustain. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you identify the connection between those thoughts and your behaviors, then work with your therapist to shift them. Over time, you’ll build new mental habits that support healthier choices and a stronger sense of self.
Reality Therapy
You can’t always change what you feel. You can’t always change your circumstances. But you can change what you do next, and that’s the heart of Reality Therapy. Grounded in Choice Theory, this approach helps you recognize how your behaviors connect to fundamental human needs: love, freedom, independence, achievement, and acceptance. With your counselor’s guidance, you’ll develop new ways of meeting those needs that support your recovery.
Motivational Interviewing
Sometimes the hardest part of recovery isn’t the withdrawal, it’s staying motivated when the road gets long. Motivational Interviewing helps you reconnect with your own reasons for wanting to change. Rather than relying on external pressure, this approach helps you identify what matters most to you and use that as the engine for your recovery.
Solution-Focused Therapy
Your past doesn’t have to define your future. Solution-Focused Therapy turns the lens away from what went wrong and toward what comes next. Your counselor will help you recognize the strengths, skills, and resilience you already carry, and show you how to build your recovery on that foundation. It’s a forward-looking approach that helps you see yourself not as someone fully capable of the life you want.
