Posted on Britt LynnMarch 27, 2024 Absolutely love this place. The nurses and staff here are amazing! They actually want to help you. And they genuinely care. I’m actually a name here and not just a number. Ive been to another place and it’s nothing like it is here.Posted on April RodenbaughMarch 19, 2024 I transferred from Camden treatment center and I am glad that I did the only downside of it is that I was getting 27 bottles at Camden treatment center and when I I got here I only get 13 it makes me feel like I have been down graded but it is what it is. I enjoy coming here is clean quiet drama free nobody standing outside bugging you to buy something or asking for something just in an out . Thank you to tia my counselor she is great and Deb in nursing is so awesome ????........Posted on rOctober 16, 2023 These guys are really cool and genuinely care. I would like to especially mention Ron, very helpful on the phone. Terry, who had the patience like Jōb, and Nick, very courteous and professional. I didn't feel like i was just another number, so to speak. Thanks again guys! Edited to leave my name Robert M. I'm editing this review just to reiterate my last review..i mean these guys can't make this process any easier.. shout out to Terry the counselor, Debbie the nurse, the lady at the front I'm sorry i forget your name but very professional very sweet, if i had to think of anything negative its not really negative just a preference..i am prescribed suboxone. I prefer the strips, but they're not available, for a good reason I'm sure. Otherwise, if you have an addiction you want to kick, this is the place to go. Thanks again everyone. Conditions We Address: Opioid Use Disorder Treatment
At Affinity Healthcare Group, we are equipped to treat opioid use disorder in all its forms. Our team of counselors and recovery specialists regularly helps patients recover from dependency on:
- OxyContin
- Vicodin
- Percocet
- Morphine
- Codeine
- Heroin
- Fentanyl
- Hydrocodone
- Other prescription or synthetic opioids
Every patient’s relationship with opioid use disorder is shaped by different experiences, circumstances, and needs. Our evidence-based approach means we start with what the research supports, and then tailor it to you. If you’re ready to reclaim your life, talk with us.
Understanding Our Medication-Assisted Treatment Program
The evidence is clear: Medication-Assisted Treatment is one of the most effective interventions available for opioid use disorder. At Affinity Healthcare Group, our MAT program uses methadone and Suboxone to reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings, giving patients the physical stability they need to fully engage in recovery.
Our integrated care model includes:
- Individual counseling
- Group therapy
- Behavioral interventions
- Ongoing medical monitoring
We address both chemical dependency and emotional triggers to help you build a strong foundation for long-term recovery.
How Methadone Can Support Long-Term Stability and Recovery
Methadone works by binding to the same opioid receptors that fuel dependency, quieting withdrawal symptoms and breaking the cycle of cravings that can make recovery difficult to maintain. By creating a steady baseline in the body, treatment helps patients focus on rebuilding stability in their lives.
- Benefits of methadone for long-term stability include:
- Reduced withdrawal symptoms and opioid cravings
- Greater emotional and physical stability
- Lower risk of relapse and overdose
- Improved ability to maintain work, relationships, and daily routines
With this stability in place, many patients find it easier to reconnect with family, return to work, and begin planning for a healthier future.
Counseling Services That Reinforce Your Recovery Journey
Evidence-based care doesn’t stop at medication. At Affinity Healthcare Group’s Newport News clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of behavioral therapies designed to complement your MAT program and provide your recovery with a lasting foundation.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
CBT helps you identify the thought patterns and emotional responses that have contributed to your opioid use disorder, and teaches you practical, proven techniques for changing them. The skills you build in CBT carry forward into every area of your life.
Reality-Based Therapy
Evidence shows that behavior change is possible even when feelings and circumstances remain the same. Reality-Based Therapy applies that insight directly: rather than waiting until everything feels easier, you’ll learn to make choices that align with your values and your recovery goals right now.
Motivational Interviewing
Research consistently shows that internal motivation produces better recovery outcomes than external pressure. Motivational Interviewing is built on that evidence. Through guided, non-judgmental conversation, your counselor will help you articulate your own reasons for change and use them as a foundation that holds up under the real challenges of recovery.
Solution-Focused Counseling
Forward momentum in recovery often comes not from analyzing the past, but from building on what’s already working. Solution-Focused Counseling helps you identify your existing strengths, resources, and moments of success — then uses them as a blueprint for the progress ahead.
