Group Counseling
Group therapy sessions offer a supportive environment where individuals can share experiences and receive encouragement from peers. Under the guidance of seasoned counselors, these gatherings provide helpful techniques for effectively managing the challenges associated with the recovery process from opioid addiction.
Group counseling fosters a sense of community and understanding, helping you feel less isolated and more empowered on your path to a drug-free life.
Individual Counseling
Our individual counseling sessions provide personalized support to address the underlying causes of addiction. In these one-on-one sessions, you’ll work closely with a counselor to explore your personal challenges and develop effective coping mechanisms.
This evidence-based approach gives you valuable insights and skills to maintain sobriety and improve overall well-being. We offer these individual therapy methods in Haddon Heights:
- Cognitive-behavioral therapy
- Reality therapy
- Solution-focused therapy
- Motivational interviewing
Medication Management
Medication-assisted treatment is an integral component of our IOP, helping individuals manage withdrawal symptoms and drug cravings. Our experienced addiction doctors work closely with you to determine the most appropriate medication regimen based on your needs.
MAT works by using FDA-approved medications like suboxone and methadone that target specific opioid receptors in the brain, reducing the euphoric effects of opioids and diminishing cravings. This approach helps normalize brain function, reduce withdrawal symptoms, and support long-term recovery.
IOP vs. Outpatient Addiction Treatment in Haddon Heights: Which One Is Right For Me?
Choosing between an intensive outpatient program and traditional outpatient addiction treatment depends on how much support you need to recover. Intensive outpatient programs offer more structured support compared to standard outpatient treatment, with more frequent sessions.
On the other hand, traditional outpatient programs involve fewer sessions and may be more suitable for individuals with milder addiction issues or those further along in their recovery journey.

Haddon Heights Intensive Outpatient Program FAQ
At Affinity Healthcare Group, our intensive outpatient program (IOP) typically lasts for about 90 days. Throughout this period, participants engage in a structured schedule comprising nine hours of group counseling and one hour of individual counseling each week.
However, we understand that every individual’s journey to recovery is unique, so the duration of a comprehensive treatment program can be adjusted based on individual assessments to ensure that it meets their specific conditions.
IOPs offer numerous benefits for individuals seeking addiction treatment. One key advantage is their flexibility, allowing participants to continue their daily work and family responsibilities and live at home while receiving support.
This balance ensures that individuals do not have to sacrifice their commitments while pursuing recovery, fostering a sense of normalcy and continuity in their lives as they work toward sobriety.
Most major insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, cover the costs associated with an intensive outpatient treatment for substance abuse disorders.
However, coverage may vary depending on the specific details of your insurance plan and the services offered by Affinity Healthcare Group. We recommend consulting with your insurance provider to obtain detailed information about your coverage specific to our IOP services.
Ideal candidates for an IOP are individuals with commitments, such as family or work obligations, preventing them from participating in full-time residential care. Additionally, those who are court-ordered for substance abuse treatment services or have a supportive home environment free from substances can greatly benefit from this program.
